My grandmother recently published a memoir about her life story. In January 2010, she had her book release party, and I got to do a book signing alongside her. You can order her book, My Journey: a Life Story, at Amazon.com. Scroll down to read a description of her book.
MY JOURNEY: A LIFE STORY is a personal memoir by Evelyn du Menil Hanney. Born in 1925, she grew up on a farm in South Texas, where German was the spoken language. She has witnessed decades spanning from the Great Depression, World War II, and the turning of the new millennium. As she writes this story of her amazing life, she recounts the history of her French and German ancestry. She also documents the story of her famous relative, author and historical figure Herman Lehmann, who was captured by Apache Indians at the age of 10 and raised among the tribe. Evelyn's own life has been full of adventure.

From farm girl to working woman, she has balanced her life with a career as an accountant. Early on she worked for the man who invented "Bean Dip" and later worked twenty four years for the insurance company, USAA. She married a Welsh man and spent her years living in Seguin,Texas, where she raised two sons and two daughters.

She has experienced numerous happy moments and tragedies and turned her life around through her deep faith in God. Today she resides at Seguin Assisted Living, plays games with her friends, spends time on her computer, and walks three miles a day. Known as "Nana" to her family, Evelyn enjoys visiting her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. This memoir is her debut as an author.
